About Silvia Mezzasoma, dancer and teacher of Argentine Tango

About me

Performer and teacher of Argentine Tango, my approach to the dance is marked by my dual character.
On one side my logical, well-structured mind set, further enhanced by my scientific studies, offers me a thorough understanding of the mechanics of movement. This translates into a technical and methodical way of teaching, as well as in an elegant and accurate dance.
On the other hand, my emotional and passionate nature makes my classes enjoyable and helps me to deeply feel the intensity of the music, the vibrating energy of the tango embrace and the synergy with my partner.

Since I was 6 I have been working on body movements and expressions. I competed for 10 years as a rhythmic gymnast and was a finalist at the national championships. I also studied ballet, modern and contemporary dance for more than 15 years and I am still training with some of the most renowned dancers in Europe

and US. I performed with the Aleph and Il Gruppo Italiano dance companies in theatres, TV movies and shows.

I came to Argentine Tango almost by chance in 2006, but I immediately started an intensive learning path of the tango culture and its expressions, mostly fostered by my teacher Andrés Bezem and by other outstanding Argentine teachers like Alejandra Mantiñan, Sebastian Achaval, Roxana Suarez, Sebastian Arce, Pablo Veron, Chico Frumboli, Juana Sepulveda, Gustavo Naveira.
Since 2009 I have been teaching tango across Europe and performing in milongas, festivals, theatres and TV shows. I am currently based in the Netherlands where I teach regular tango classes in The Hague, Leiden and Noordwijk together with Federico Suarez (Buenos Aires)
